0597. The relation between intestinal intramucosal ph and stress hormones in pig hemorrhagic shock model
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction It is known that intestinal intramucosal pH (pHi) is a good parameter of tissue perfusion in critical patients. However, physiological meaning of pHi value related to other physiological parameter, such as stress hormone, is not well known. The purpose of the study is to clarify the importance of monitoring pHi during hemorrhagic shock in pig model. The relation between pHi, oxygen supply and demand balance at intestinal region and stress hormones are discussed.

Tissue Post Cardiac Arrest
Hypoperfusion to the gut during cardiac arrest is an important clinical problem. The inability to control pH during metabolic stress, e.g. ischemia, leads to the disruption or halting of processes vital to balancing cellular metabolism. Alterations in cellular pH have been linked to changes in intramucosal permeability, which may result in the leakage of inflammatory mediators or bacteria, or b...
متن کاملGastric tonometry: the role of mucosal pH measurement in the management of trauma.
Effective management of hemorrhagic shock depends on titration of therapies against reliable resuscitation end points. Conventional clinical and laboratory indexes of shock are often slow to respond to progressive circulatory compromise. GI mucosal ischemia resulting from redistribution of blood flow may, however, precede uncompensated shock and may compound the initial hemorrhagic insult by to...
متن کاملEffect of ATP-MgCl2-hypertonic solution (NaCl5%) administration on hemorrhagic shock
Introduction: In the recent years, effect of hypertonic solution in resuscitation of shock has been shown by clinical and laboratory studies. On the other hand ATP-MgCl2 is used for better tissue perfusion and cardiac output in shock. The aim of this study is evaluation of ATP-MgCl2 with hypertonic solution in resuscitation of hemorrhagic shock. Materials and Methods: In this experimental stud...

Injury to the intestinal mucosa is a life-threatening problem in a variety of clinical disorders, including hemorrhagic shock, trauma, burn, pancreatitis, and heat stroke. The susceptibility to injury of different regions of intestine in these disorders is not well understood. We compared histological injury across the small intestine in two in vivo mouse models of injury, hemorrhagic shock (30...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the role of SIRT1 in small intestine damage following severe hemorrhagic shock and to investigate whether polydatin (PD) can activate SIRT1 in shock treatment. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS The severe hemorrhagic shock model was reproduced in Sprague Dawley rats. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Two hours after drug administration, half of the rats were assessed for survival time e...
